Channel 2 KTVN
Saturday afternoon Neda Iranpour from KTVN, Jamey Hinman(from the leukemia lymphoma society, Jay the camera guy came over to the house to interview Kristin for an upcoming event the Leukemia Lymphoma Society puts on. It is called the Man and Woman of the Year. This campaign is a fund raising competition among individuals in the community. Candidates run in honor of the Boy/Girl of the Year. This happens to be Kristin. Each person nominated campaigns for the LLS society. The kick-off event is this Wednesday and the Grand Finale Gala will follow after the campaigning approximately 8-10 weeks later. The boys are excited about the limo that will pick us up this Wednesday and take us to the Silver Legacy. What a treat for us! So, watch channel 2 tonight at 11:00 and then on Wednesday at 6:00 or 6:30? (I will post the definite time when we know what it is) and 11:00 for the full story.
Our trip to Oakland went well. Kristin again cleared her high dose methotrexate in fabulous time and we were able to be discharged Thursday. This was in part to the monstorous bags of sodium bicarb she got through her iv and the dozens of water bottles she drank for 4 days. She also was given vincristine which we HATE. This makes it difficult for her to walk, affects coordination, blurry vision and causes her voice to shake. Did I mention that she said I had four eyes the other day? So, for the rest of this week it is 6mp which is in pill form and then we are back to Oakland on May 5. Yes, we are looking for a car that is more economical!
People ask how she is doing and I am grateful to say that she is progressing well. Tired and weak, but the cancer is responding to all the chemo. After the "blast scare" a few weeks ago, I am thankful to not be going down that road.....bone marrow transplant.....
Dear friends, I want to express my sincere gratitude for all your continued prayers, generosity, and support. We are so very blessed. I do not doubt;for one minute, God's hand in our lives. Darren and I are witnesses to this each and every day. I feel the angels continuing to go before her, I feel them lifting her up when she is weak, and I hear them whispering to her from behind, pushing her forward and giving her strength to go down this difficult road. Thank you seems so trite, but know that our whole hearts are behind those two words.
