RUNNING ON EMPTY...

I was hoping that we would be on an upswing through the latter part of the week, but Kristin's counts are still "in the garbage." I took labs in yesterday. Her WBC (white blood cells) were .2, PLATELETS 49, HGB 7.9! Her ANC was not calcuable. Yes, she is running on empty and is still confined to the house. Although she is feeling so poorly that she would not leave even if she could. So, if we do not get any fevers, we will go in on Monday. Please know that this is because of the chemo and not the cancer. This is a rough time for her physically and emotionally, so please keep her in your prayers. thanks everyone we love you all!

Hi Kristin and family, I'm sorry to hear you are feeling lousy - it always seemed like adding insult to injury to feel so awful because of the chemo! Here's a smile (I hope) for you. Yesterday we attended the wedding of one of Jennifer's friends from camp - she also had leukemia. It may seem a long way to the end of the tunnel, but keep up the good work, whether or not it seems like it - you are making good progress. Jennifer got the chance to be a counselor at Okizu oncology camp, so I dropped her off today on the way home from the wedding. I remember her first year, we kept putting off camp for a week until her counts started up. She finally made it and this is her 11th year - she missed last year because she was working in Montana. Thanks for all the posts; I know it takes time, but it gives us a good idea exactly which vibes to send your way all the time :) Good luck to all, Kathy
