DJ KRISTIN
If you are driving by the Grand Sierra, take a look at their marquis. Kristin's picture (courtesy of Prestige Photography/Lifetouch) is up there for the Live Happy Hour. I have to say that it was a bit emotional for me to see her picture displayed there. It was awesome!
We met Neda down at Citadel Broadcasting early this morning to do some interviews with the local radio stations. We met so many nice people and had a great time. Kristin quickly became a pro and did a great job. She did interviews on Wild 102.9 with Neda and RudeBoy, Magic 95.5 with Austin and Tina, Koh 780 am, K-Bull with Woody and Paula, Alice 96.5 with Bill, Connie and Trey. We loved watching how all these hosts perform and work together. But, even more so, how genuinely kind and down to earth they all were. They talked a lot about the 'LIVE HAPPY HOUR' to-night at the Grand Sierra and how she deals with living with leukemia. Kristin did so good and I was very proud of how she handled all the questions. She has taken her happy outlook and truly put it to use.
On June 11th we went to Renown for more chemo. This time she got three shots of asparigenese in the legs. After the shots, she had to be observed for a couple of hours and then were free to go. The dexamethasone has affected her cravings for salty foods and irritability. Luckily she stops the dex on Monday and we have 7 days off before we start another 7 days on. Other than that, all has gone well. She has been very blessed and we are so grateful for every prayer said. She is a testament to the power of prayer, priesthood, and modern medicine. Darren and I are reminded of this each and every day! ..... something we will never take for granted again.
